The Somerville Remembrance Garden

We were honoured to create a commemorative bronze plaque for The Somerville Remembrance Garden in Oxford, dedicated to the remarkable women of Somerville College who supported the war efforts during both WWI and WWII.

The plaque is cast in bronze with a powder-coated black background and features a central panel based on a historical photograph, brought to life with a carefully patinated finish.

A memorial nestled in a reflective and tranquil space.

To complement the piece, we also designed a bespoke metal post, ensuring the installation sits harmoniously within the natural setting of the garden.

Projects like this remind us of the enduring importance of remembrance and the role craftsmanship plays in preserving these stories for future generations.
